Squirrels -- Cute and Fuzzy or Rats with Bushy Tails?

I could growl every time I hear someone say "Look at the cute squirrel."

"Cute" they say? Have they forgotten squirrels are rodents? You know, as in they are related to mice and rats? As far as I can see there is little difference between them, mainly a bushy tail and their mode of operation. Squirrels are right in your face while mice and rats tend to sneak and scurry around.

Squirrels are my most despised enemy. They invade my yard and chew up the flower bulbs and plants and constantly try to raid the bird feeder. Thank goodness for squirrel proof feeders. They even gnawed into our neighbors' house in hopes of building a nest. I was told that they have caused power outages.

I have tried to herd them. I chase, but they can jump high and climb, which I can not. You just don't find Corgis climbing trees, I know, because I have tried.

Once squirrels make it up a tree or telephone pole the little pests just chitter away. It doesn't take much to recognize squirrel laughter, especially when they are dropping twigs and leaves on my head.

So, if you want to look at something cute, stick with your dog, or even your cat. Forget those bushy tailed, gnawing, and disrespectful rodents.

My mom and I don't like squirrels either. I thought that squirrels would be comfy, but they aren't. Tell Tom and Mary that I miss them very much. I think Maxie is a very cute dog. Max, you should come to my house and play with Chessie cat. You would be good friends. Love, Chloe and chessie
